Dr. Mate Experience

Dr. Mate stated the first time he heard anything about the healing effects of forgiveness, was from a friend who was sharing his stories about the healing that happened in his own life. Dr. Mate stated he remembered thinking, “Good for you, but it doesn’t apply to me.”
Finally, after four years, according to Dr. Mate, he began to feel desperate and finally decided to forgive. Dr. Mate stated, “I was amazed to find that when I truly forgave from my heart, so many of the ailments I fought daily just disappeared. I was ecstatic, to say the least.”
Dr. Mate stated that he felt much younger and he was eager to share this healing with everyone. He explains that from truly forgiving and living a life of forgiveness, he was healed from chronic fatigue syndrome, hypoglycemia, severe insomnia, allergies, and neck and back pain just from truly forgiving and living a life of forgiveness.

My Help to You

Coaching someone on forgiveness is a sensitive and nuanced process that requires empathy, understanding, and patience. Here are some of the steps I take when coaching someone on forgiveness

1. Build a trusting relationship with the person you are coaching. Ensure they feel comfortable and safe sharing their feelings and experiences.

2. Listen actively to their story and understand their perspective. Allow them to express their emotions and thoughts without judgment.

3. Validate their feelings and emotions. Let them know that it’s okay to feel the way they do and that their emotions are valid.

4. Help them explore the impact of holding onto resentment or anger. Discuss how forgiveness can contribute to their own well-being and emotional health.

5. Discuss the benefits of forgiveness for their mental and emotional health.

6. Discuss fostering empathy by helping them see the humanity in the person who caused harm. This doesn’t justify the wrongdoing but can help understand the complex nature of human behavior.

7. Encourage self-reflection on their own growth and the potential for positive change through forgiveness.

8. Regularly check in on their progress, discuss any challenges, and make adjustments to the coaching plan as needed.

Remember that forgiveness is a personal journey, and the timeline for each individual may vary. It’s important to approach this process with sensitivity and respect for the person’s unique experiences and emotions.
