Did you know the true family tree is Diamond-Shaped rather than an inverted pyramid? The further back you go, the number of ancestors in each generation increases steadily up to a point, then slows, stops, then reduces.
When we look at the work of Joseph Chang’s team we find that “No MATTER THE LANGUAGE we speak or the COLOR of our SKIN, we share ANCESTORS who planted rice on the banks of the YANGTZE. ,who first domesticated horses on the steppes of the UKRAINE,who hunted giant sloths in the forests of North and South America, and who labored to build the Great Pyramid of Khufu.” WE ARE ALL RELATED AND WE ARE ALL EQUAL. So we all need to think that way and live that way because we are all have the same rights and opportunities. No one can hold you back except for YOU. We all have the ability to do whatever we want to do but don’t expect it to be easy, because it often is not. However, once you accomplish your goal you will be able to look back and be proud of your accomplishments.
The model accounted for complexities such as social barriers, physical barriers of geography and migration, and the impact of known events within the last 20,000 years. It also introduced the ‘identical ancestors point’, between 5,000 and 7,000 years ago, where everybody living today has exactly the same set of ancestors. In other words, every person who was alive at that time is either an ancestor to all 6.5 billion people living today, or their line died out and they have no remaining descendants.
This worldwide genealogical web is not so difficult to spin. If the history of mankind has one common theme, it is our ability to get around the planet, whether it is the migration of the first Siberian hunter-gatherers into North America; the conquering armies of Julius Caesar and Alexander the Great; the raping and pillaging hordes of Vikings, Mongols, and Huns; the Empire builders of Spain, Portugal, and Britain; the refugees of the Irish Potato Famine; or even the odd shipwrecked sailor. It takes just one ancestral link to a ‘foreign’ cultural group among your millions of ancestors, and you share ancestors with everyone in that group. Through this, some geneticists estimate that everybody on Earth is at least 50th cousin to everybody else.
As Joseph Chang’s team concluded, “No MATTER THE LANGUAGE we speak or the COLOR of our SKIN, we share ANCESTORS who planted rice on the banks of the Yangtze, who first domesticated horses on the steppes of the Ukraine, who hunted giant sloths in the forests of North and South America, and who labored to build the Great Pyramid of Khufu.” WE ARE ALL RELATED AND EQUAL. So we all need to think that way and live that way because we are all equal and have the same rights and opportunities. No one can hold you back except for you. We all have the ability to do whatever we want to do but don’t expect it to be easy, because it often is not. However, once you REACH your goal you will be able to look back and be proud of your accomplishments.
On the Birthday of our Country may we All be thankful for the freedom we have today and for the many people that gave their lives for our freedom.
